Thrifted (& Pilfered) Finds

Some recent thrifted buys:-

It was hard to get a good photo of this picture.  It's a bit battered around the edges but for £1.50 I'm sure I can find somewhere to put it.

This tin was brand new in the charity shop and contained a mug and coaster.  I wasn't really interested in them, just in how Cath Kidston this looked and how well it would blend in in my kitchen

£1.50 from the British Heart Foundation.  I can wear it for a whole hour before it starts to turn my finger green

This picture was so wonderfully kitsch it just had to come home with me.  Also, it reminds me of Liverpool's Georgian Quarter

Vintage playing cards! 75p each

Had a lovely dinner at my mum and dad's last night.  As is my custom when I go home, I had a bit of a rummage around and found a few things that were of interest.

How great are these egg cups.  I think these are from the 1970's.  I remember them from when I was very small.  I'd forgotten that they were still around.  Fortunately, my Mum doesn't share my love of all things kitsch and was more than happy for me to take them home with me.

Also, a not vintage but still very pretty biscuit tin.  This has done the rounds in my family from my sister to me to my mum and now, since I spotted it again last night, back to me.  This is gonna suit my kitchen perfectly!

Off to share with Sophie Isobel

Enjoy the rest of this most welcome long weekend xxx

  6. Hi Lucy, Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog! I was really pleased to have stumbled upon your great blog this afternoon - think we have a lot i common! I love your recent finds - especially the pictures!! I would have bought all of those thigns too! Made me smile when you mentioned having a bit of a rummage around at your mums'! I always do this too! Every time i go to visit my parents I cannot resist going in to their garage where they have not only plenty of vintage stuff of mums', but also boxes & boxes full of bits and bobs from my Nans' house which was cleared out after she died a few years ago - i've had some great vintage stuff from those! Hubby despairs every time i come home as it's usually with another bag full of yet more STUFF! Have a lovely weekeend x

  7. I love all of your finds. I too laughed when I read that you shopped at your mom's because I do it all the time! We are lucky! Free "shopping" trips. I just found your blog via Her Library Adventures, and I am enjoying it very much. I like your description of yourself. I am your newest follower! Joann

  9. How lovely to spy a teeny bit of what must be a vintage Australian tablecloth! Of course it is, I've had another look and see the Harbour Bridge. Lots of lovely bits. My faves, the old playing cards and those gorgeous eggcups from your Mum x

  12. You have lovely nails! I am so jealous of people with attractive natural nails. I don't really like the over-manicured look on people generally.
