All from recent charity shop crawls. Our house has rather high ceilings which means there is an awful lot of wall. This is particularly the case in our living room where some clever person over the years has stripped out the original picture rail and ceiling and plastered over everything.
It's a bit of a challenge sometimes as I'm fussy about what goes on the wall and while Mr N humours most of my decor choices, there are certain things he will put his foot down over.
Such as this pair:-
"Our living room will end up looking like the Village of the Damned"
Of course when I spotted these at 75p each in my local hospice shop I immediately thought of Vix and her infamous wall of misery and they just had to come home with me!
Alas, it was not meant to be!
Most of these will end up on the chimney breast wall in our bedroom when its eventually beautified. I want lots of kitsch florals and smiling 60's children, like these beauties:-
£1.50 each.
The vintage Disney character wooden plates will probably end up on the wall in Little Miss 4's room.
I (Mr N) also put these up in the kitchen
I've had these for ages but I hadn't gotten around to putting them up again after the recent revamp
Gave the board a quick wipe down before taking this photo. We use it for writing shopping lists on and the only thing on it was toilet rolls, such a glamourous life!
See you soon

Wow you have got some beautiful ones lately. I'm constantly buying vintage art it's so cheap and fun to look at. x
ReplyDeleteI love your little ragamuffins.
ReplyDeleteI have tons of big-eye art, I bought it for my daughters bedrooms, but like your husband, they find it slightly creepy and won't let me hang it up.
So it sits in the shed, gathering dust and cobwebs. Sad. I can't bring myself to part with it though because I think it's so sweet and kitschy and it reminds me of my own childhood.
Very cool wall adornments!! Your hubby's 'Village of the Damned' comment made me laugh though!!

I've got a few great pictures of big eyed kids, they are a tad spooky. I even have a book about them!
ReplyDeleteFreaky! Check out my blog today! I think it works better when you have a random assortment of pictures, the ugly ones seem to make the nicer ones better, if that makes sense. There's rather a few duplicates we share, I'm sure your man will come round in the end, mine did! x
ReplyDeleteLove the floral picture - been looking for one of those for ages!
