Inbetween Days

So according to the calendar it's officially Spring.  OK in theory, but in principle venturing out with just a cardigan and blazer tells quite a different story

What to do with those inbetween days...

Dig the pastel tights out

Paint nails in favourite colour combinations

Get used to being back at work

Fresh fruit for breakfast

 Build up the vinyl collection

Sort out paperback overspill

Scratch my kitsch itch!

Amongst other things

  1. I feel very optimistic about the arrival of not just spring, but spring weather. It's grey and wet today, as well as rather cold. Like you though, an inherent urge to de-clutter has woken up inside. Neat piles of half sorted stuff are dotted around the house. Just desperate for coat free days. I've got so many cardigans to wear!
I love your table, it looks so welcoming and fun.
Pastel tights, I need some, I only have dark or patterned ones.
That's an impressive pile of books, you can tell it's been a long winter.

  2. Oh let me help you scratch that itch Lucy, I need insane fairy lights in my life NOW! And oh those placemats are simply heavenly - I'm 10 years old again!! Take it easy out there love, don't let the bastards pull you down but it looks like minty tights with delish mary janes, multi-coloured nail polish and working on your vinyl and paperbacks are just the trick to invite spring in. Hope you're well my lovely, Desiree xo

  3. Beautiful photos!! I still don't feel as spring is coming, but it's a good excuse to wear our pastel tights and think about bright colours and things we love!
I like your working space, it's really personal and it offers us a more private sight of your everyday life!Always go for the bright side of kitch!

  5. Now I've got The Cure in my head and the delectable vision of Robert Smith when he was thin and gorgeous!
I love your house, I want to come round for dinner and steal everything. I wish Spring would hurry up and get here, Tuesday's taste of it was wonderful but it's buggering freezing now and we've apparently got snow on the way. xxx

  10. Oh yes, pastel tights are gorgeous! So are fairy lights, vintage placemats and table linen, Not the Nine O'Clock News on vinyl, paperback piles, and pretty nails!
Well, we had a little hint of Spring, but it's been murky and damp ever since... Oh well, keep up the colour and the kitsch, even if you have to carry on wearing your winter coat just a wee bit longer! xxxx

  14. Your home is so pretty Lucy, it just looks so warm and inviting. I love your bright colour scheme and bright nails, and envy your ability to sort out your book pile! I saw some shoes just like yours in the charity shop yesterday, with just a little heel and in my size, but they were really beaten up, so I sadly left them. I can see me going back and getting them now though. xx

  15. I love your photos! I feel you on the overflow of paperbacks. I have not quite enough to justify buying another bookshelf, but within a few months I probably will. For now they are just in a big pile on the floor, like yours. I also love your t-bars in the first photo. Finding the right pair is difficult.
