According to Betjeman...

"...Ludlow is probably the loveliest town in England."

My sister used to go on and on about Ludlow and how we should all go for holidays.  "Yeh great" I'd say, and then forget about it.

Then she decided she liked it that much that she moved there

And we went to visit for the first time

1.  Vintage leatherette travel bag £1.50.  2.  Directions and supplies.  3.  Soundtrack to the weekend.  4.  Alice in Transit

And I got to see what the fuss was all about

Yes it certainly has character

And rows of pastel colour Georgian town houses alongside treasures from the Tudor period

Streets with bunting

Good food

And ice cream

Bubblegum and Black Cherry & Kirsch, mmm!

Pretty much everything you could ask for really

It was a beautiful place and we had a beautiful time.  Particularly as the weather was awesome.  Yes, you heard it right, we had a summer's weekend!  Unfortunately we've just got back and I am too tired to try and put together a coherent narrative.  I will try harder tomorrow

Nite!

    1. That colourful plaid one? Love it! The sandals were from Dorothy Perkins, I got them in the sale a few weeks ago and the top was from a charity shop, although I think it was originally from Asda! Should have included that in the post really ;)

  8. Ludlow sure does look gorgeous. We had planned on stopping and checking out the castle, but did not have time to stop as we were on route from Warwick to Stokesay Castle, to Chester, to Stockport in the same day. The bunting in the street is so charming, and the ice cream does look delicious and looks fab with your nail polish. Thanks for sharing your photos. T x

  13. I NEED that ice cream - though last time I ate blue ice cream my poo was blue - yes I know you wanted to know all about that. anyway YOU WON, email me. Ludlow looks really rather sweet, I spotted no chavs with neck tattoos, no endless rubbish or drunks cluttering up the place (fancy a trip to Wycombe?!) I wondered what the alice thingy was, until I realised it was your bosom! Nice!

  18. On the epic car journeys we did from South Wales to visit grandparents when I was a kid, we'd always stop in Ludlow as my mum really liked it. Guess it's overdue a revisit! x

  19. Ludlow is lovely and the Food Festival rocks, stalls of locally made cheese, cider and bread to buy and picnic on in the grounds of the castle, fantastic if the weather's good!
