Autumn Wishing in a Welsh Village

Thank you for all the comments about my hair.  I'm quite pleased with it considering I did it myself. I'm looking forward to experimenting around it with my clothes and make up.  Speaking of which, a few of you commented on the sneak peaks of this dress from my last couple of posts. Well, here it is in all it's glory.   It's another vintage Etsy purchase from the States which I paired with a high street denim jacket and my Dr Marten knee boots for comfort and practicality.  These pics were taken last week during a trip to the Welsh village of Llanfyllin.  We stayed in an 18th century converted mill which, at dusk, looked like this

It was set in it's own sweeping secluded grounds with a stream and a bridge, blackberry bushes and nooks and crannies aplenty.  The weather was extremely changeable but it didn't matter.

In fact, lying in bed one night with the duvet wrapped around my neck reading on my phone so as not to disturb a sleeping 5 month old, I realised that Autumn seemed to have suddenly arrived out of nowhere and I was more than ready for it.  I'm ready for tights and cardigans.  Ready for more cuddling up and wrapping the baby in his giant rainbow blanket.  Ready for more darkness and fog and seeing my breath in front of me in the morning

Am I the only one?

Wild Mood Swings

Hello lovely blog readers

How are you?  I've been absent a wee while but let's not dwell cos that's boring.  Instead let me catch you up on what I've been doing.

Well, I've rejigged the old blogstead (again) and hopefully I've created a header that I might actually stick with for a while.  Also, last week I spent some precious family time in Pembrokeshire where I captured the beautiful medieval town of Tenby through my Hipsta-lense

Such a pretty little town.  Full of crumbling medieval walls mixed with windy roads of pastel coloured Victorian houses and hotels and the most beautiful seafront.

This is me in one of my favourite childhood locations, Castle Hill.  I still get so excited when I see the canons

Managed to raise a small smile

Oh yeh, that was the other thing, the mister and I are expecting our second little bundle in March next year, yay :)

The first trimester wasn't kind to me at all.  It was basically a blur of sleep, longing for sleep, greasy hair, acne, soul crushing sickness and murderous anger and frustration.  Not pretty.  I barely left the house, inspiration was scarce and blogging was the last thing on my mind.

I'm hoping I've turned a corner now!

I promise this won't become a mama blog.  I myself have hit the snooze button on bloggers who've gone into full on maternity mode in the past so I know it's not everyone's thing.  Although, I'm sure you'll humour me a little bit won't you!

I'm going to try my best to catch up with you all soon

Ta ta for now

Talking 'bout Monroe and walking on Snow White

Sometimes a thinking person has to overlook their constant awareness of life's ambiguities in order to function in the real world.  Yes Uncle Walt was a member of the 'Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals' and yes, he may or may not have been a Nazi sympathiser.  But, taken purely at face value, The Disney Corportion has made some heartwarming films that have touched many a childhood.

At least that's what I told myself when we spent 3 glorious sun drenched days in Disneyland Paris

Any guesses what my favourite Disney film might have been...?

OK, so I may have got caught up in the atmosphere

It's pretty hard not to to be honest

Here is me hyperventilating with excitement in the Alice in Wonderland labyrinth.

I visited this part of the park several times during the course of our time there, hence the different outfits

"Mr Rabbit, oh Mr Rabbit..."

"Hey you there, stop kicking that mackerel"

 "a..e..i..o..uuuuuuu"

"Pardon me, but Mr 3, why must you paint them red?"

OK, I'm indulging myself a little here, but I absolutely adore everything Alice!

This queen was broken.  I thought she still looked quite intimidating

Bumping my head

The doormouse looking completely stoned

Tea at the March Hare Tea Rooms - yes please!

"Why you're nothing but a pack of cards"

My come hither look (see what I did there)

We honestly enjoyed ourselves so much that the time just flew.  Most importantly, Miss 6 loved every minute and was completely fearless when it came to going on all the rides

Obviously, we also explored the non-Alice parts of the park

They had C3PO!

Yeh that's right, the ears look better on me biatch

It's always quite funny seeing French people trying to recreate the all American experience.  The staff were generally fantastic, especially the guy who dressed up as a Jedi warrior and stayed in character to entertain the kids (and adults) queuing for the Star Tours experience

Incidentally, do you like the dress I'm wearing?  I received some nice comments about it on my last post.  It was sent to me to review by Warehouse

Here's what it looks like on the site

It was hard to choose just one dress as they have so many pretty, pastel coloured beauties on the site at the moment.  It arrived just before we went away and I was so glad as I absolutely wore it to death.  So much so that it didn't seem necessary to do a seperate post as there are so many photos of me wearing it here.  It's comfy, stretchy, versatile and definitely my go-to dress of the moment.  A major thumbs up from me.

Although I didn't buy very much on this holiday, I did come away from Disney with these 3 badges

So what about you?  Have you ever been to Disneyland?  Would you?  Do you have a favourite Disney film?
