Talking 'bout Monroe and walking on Snow White

Sometimes a thinking person has to overlook their constant awareness of life's ambiguities in order to function in the real world.  Yes Uncle Walt was a member of the 'Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals' and yes, he may or may not have been a Nazi sympathiser.  But, taken purely at face value, The Disney Corportion has made some heartwarming films that have touched many a childhood.

At least that's what I told myself when we spent 3 glorious sun drenched days in Disneyland Paris

Any guesses what my favourite Disney film might have been...?

OK, so I may have got caught up in the atmosphere

It's pretty hard not to to be honest

Here is me hyperventilating with excitement in the Alice in Wonderland labyrinth.

I visited this part of the park several times during the course of our time there, hence the different outfits

"Mr Rabbit, oh Mr Rabbit..."

"Hey you there, stop kicking that mackerel"

 "a..e..i..o..uuuuuuu"

"Pardon me, but Mr 3, why must you paint them red?"

OK, I'm indulging myself a little here, but I absolutely adore everything Alice!

This queen was broken.  I thought she still looked quite intimidating

Bumping my head

The doormouse looking completely stoned

Tea at the March Hare Tea Rooms - yes please!

"Why you're nothing but a pack of cards"

My come hither look (see what I did there)

We honestly enjoyed ourselves so much that the time just flew.  Most importantly, Miss 6 loved every minute and was completely fearless when it came to going on all the rides

Obviously, we also explored the non-Alice parts of the park

They had C3PO!

Yeh that's right, the ears look better on me biatch

It's always quite funny seeing French people trying to recreate the all American experience.  The staff were generally fantastic, especially the guy who dressed up as a Jedi warrior and stayed in character to entertain the kids (and adults) queuing for the Star Tours experience

Incidentally, do you like the dress I'm wearing?  I received some nice comments about it on my last post.  It was sent to me to review by Warehouse

Here's what it looks like on the site

It was hard to choose just one dress as they have so many pretty, pastel coloured beauties on the site at the moment.  It arrived just before we went away and I was so glad as I absolutely wore it to death.  So much so that it didn't seem necessary to do a seperate post as there are so many photos of me wearing it here.  It's comfy, stretchy, versatile and definitely my go-to dress of the moment.  A major thumbs up from me.

Although I didn't buy very much on this holiday, I did come away from Disney with these 3 badges

So what about you?  Have you ever been to Disneyland?  Would you?  Do you have a favourite Disney film?

xxx

  3. No, no and no!
Ooh, I am such a misery, but Disney's not really my thing and neither are theme parks, but that's OK, I don't have to go, do I?
You look like you had a lot of fun, and the dress is very pretty. Love the ears-look-better-on-me photo! xxx

  7. This made me so excited to go back in November! I don't think I'll ever get sick of Disney! We actually have footage of my and my brother and sister when we were little running around the Alice maze! My favourite Disney film is a tie between The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. I will definitely be getting some pins this year as I resisted last year, I already have a flounder one and a mickey mouse one from when I was there as a kid. You look like you were in your element Lucy, so glad you enjoyed it!

  8. What a fun day! I confess I was always scared of the Alice in Wonderland story as a kid. I liked scary stories in general, but just not that one. Who knows why. I've been to Tokyo Disneyland many times and Disney World, and loved them both.
    Your dress is gorgeous!

  10. I've never been to any Disneyland but I must admit I would love to go, my favourite Disney films were Pinocchio and Dumbo I think. I kind of hate The Lion King because my two oldest children had it on constant repeat for about two years. You do look lovely in all these pics Lucy, I love your come hither look and your biatch face, and the fact that you seemed to keep your ears on nearly the whole time you were there. And your dress is a beauty, it suits you really well. xx

  11. I love Alice In Wonderland too and I'm glad you had such a good time. Have you seen the sixties version of the film with Peter Cook as the Hatter? And the March Hare is so subtle with his madness, he's just superb!

  15. Great pix.. yes it's a happy crazy place for sure. My kids would DIE to be able to go but it's just TOOOO far obvs!
I've been. 1988. A music tour in california. We played (jazz band) and I sung at disneyland actually!!! Then we got to play for 2 days. So much fun as I recall!
I don't much like the new disney stuff... love the old ones. It's just so hard to avoid when you have kids. Pixar has done some great films - toy story is brilliant.
    love the dress.

  19. I have just found your blog and I really like it!
Your Disneyland trip looks like it was loads of fun. I used to live in Los Angeles in the US and have been to Disneyland there a few times, but I'd love to visit all the other Disney parks elsewhere in the world!
    Thanks for the blog :)
