I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers

The title quote from L.M. Montgomery uttered by the flame haired Anne Shirley pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about this time of year.  Autumn is the season I start to grow back into my own skin.  I am calmed and comforted by its presence.  Autumn is my time.

This year October has seen every single weekend completely booked up with weddings, family events and other social arrangements which all seem to have lined themselves up one after the other.  This combined with dealing with 2 children with a combination of chicken pox, the usual coughs and colds, and the worst teething pain I've ever known a baby to suffer, means that I have not had time to even check my reflection of late let alone operate in blogland.  I am finding solace in the thought of my forthcoming holiday where I will be hopefully be able to spend a few days drinking in visual beauty similar to that depicted in these photographs.

I hope you are enjoying the change of season wherever you may be.

  1. Such gorgeous images. I don't mind autumn days if they are dry; I'm afraid the endless rain has dampened my spirits a bit... Poorly kids and teething troubles will have the same effect, hope everyone is feeling better soon. xxx

  4. I love Autumn too - it's such a relief to have a few cosy nights in when it starts to get cooler. I love all your photos by the way - gorgeous red leaves!

  6. I wish it could be autumn forever. Those photos gave me goosebumps. You just wont see anything like that here in East Texas. It stays warm for far too long for the leaves to turn properly and then a BAM! It's winter and the leaves just freeze and fall off the trees. Sad face.

  7. One of my favourite quotes and so true too! Autumn is a season which is highly underrated in my opinion - the bursts of gold and russet among the trees always calms me and makes me feel relaxed again. Lovely post! - Tasha xxx

  9. Hiya, I'm replying to your question, Sarah Jane (couldn't see an email address anywhere) - I took the tripod with me when I went wandering in the cemetery, hence the photos of myself! I would feel self-conscious usually, but it's so quiet there, and if you take yourself off on the back paths, there's no one about. I'm not quite brave enough to do that where there are tons of people looking, but a deserted graveyard is perfect!
Hope all is well with you, nice to hear from you. xx
