Where's your mama gone

So as most of you know I'm pregnant right now.  Whatevs.  I'm 32 weeks, permanently exhausted and absolutely huge.  Like comedy sketch, stick a pillow up your dress huge.  I can barely sit upright due to exhaustion and when I'm not working or you know, doing necessary living stuff, you'll find me in a state of deep slumber

 Towards the beginning, while I still had the energy, I scoured the web for maternity wear inspiration and found it to be pretty damn scant.  Why do terms like 'classic' and 'understated' seem to go hand in hand with articles on pregnancy style.  Ugh.

I say thank goodness for bloggers

I found Bianca's blog Goodnight Little Spoon completely by accident and it's since become one of my favourites.  Bianca was pregnant when I discovered her blog and I was very impressed with her creative maternity wardrobe.  Little did I know that before too long I'd be referring back to it for inspiration.  I just love her use of colour, her cardigans and the quirky finishing touches.  

Colour, cardigans and quirky accessories are also all staples of one of my favourite blogging ladies Marissa of The Shades of Monet Chronicles 

Longtime readers will know what a big fan I am of Marissa's style (see this post).  Recently I just loved how she sailed through her pregnancy without missing a beat.  She looked exactly as unique and beautiful as she always did.

I've managed to get by so far without buying too much in the way of maternity clothes.  A couple of dresses and some mama tights notwithstanding.  Even though the way I look has taken a back seat lately.   Still, thank goodness for the unique and talented ladies of blogland to keep me and similarly placed ladies of expanding girth inspired with their colour, creativity and uncompromising uniqueness.

Black Hair

Getting to my point, black is also the colour that my own hair used to be for quite a while 

 

  The longest while actually.  Out of all the other colours it's been, I've stuck with black the longest 

Eeep!  Who is this pale tired looking woman?  Could it be me when Miss 6 was Miss just turned 1?!  Nope, it looks too much like Samatha Cameron...ugh!!!

I discovered this blog quite by accident.  It's not updated anymore.   The talented lady behind it now blogs here.  She is a girl after my own heart to be sure.   These outfits make me want to watch Tim Burton films and skip around the woods dressed as Stevie Nicks.  But not at the same time.

Some Girls Wander

Emily describes her style as "fashion as seen through the bottom of Alice's "drink me" bottle".  Unfortunately she doesn't blog her outfits anymore, which is a shame.  She is one of my favourite bloggers from my lurker days.   Also, her blog title is a reference to either Leonard Cohen or The Sisters of Mercy.  Either of which is fine by me.

Autumn is upon us - yay!  The season where I feel most like me.  I thought I'd celebrate by making a few iccl changes to the old homestead.  A few simplifications if you will, in keeping with the changing of the seasons.   Hope you like them

I Like Your Style #2

Hello there blogland, how are you?

I thought I would actually follow up on my idea to do a series of blog posts about some of the lovely bloggers whose fabulous wardrobes and styles I am currently coverting.  Welcome to 'I Like Your Style' Part 2!  Check me out!

Today I'm going to feature the absolutely gorgeous Marissa Noelle from Shades of Monet 

As regular readers will know I am going through something of a colour obsession at the moment and Marissa's style is soooo right up my street.

That skirt, those shoes....swoon!

I love the way she doesn't stick to one certain style or favourtite colour.  Those patterns and colours are all mixed in right there and accessorised beautifully with the her enviable collection of hats and headscarves.

Not only is Marissa absolutely beautiful, she is a lovely lovely person and was the first ever follower of this little blog!

Her family are just so adorable I can't stand it!

I Like Your Style

Today I'm going to write about the lovely Kate Gabrielle who blogs over at Scathingly Brilliant.  She is a purveyor of fabulous 1920's style stationery, uber blogger, and a very stylish lady to boot.

I am a relatively recent follower of Kate's but I was immediately struck by the use of colour in her ensembles.

Her style is very retro 1960's with the dreamiest kitschy candy shop colour pallet

She has the most fabulous collection of coloured tights I've ever seen!

And check out the shoes!

Of course her trademark pink hair and beehive are very much a part of the overall look

Being a bit of an autumn girl traditionally I have tended to shy away from pastel, Spring like colours in the past, but since discovering Kate's blog I have been well and truly inspired to branch out into aquas, lilacs, corals, pale pinks, and mint greens.  And what better time to experiment for us Brits with Spring being merely in its infancy.  Bring it on!
