So the sun has made some
brief appearances of late. Spring is slowly starting to reveal itself.
This glorious Sunday morning started out on a pleasantly sunny note so I
thought I'd don my Sunday best and showcase my newest piece of frockage for some pics.
Of course by the time these were taken it was starting to drizzle
I'm absolutely in love with this dress at the moment. It's yellow, it's floral, it's my perfect length; it positively screams happy!
My only concern is the neckline, it's higher than most tea dresses which leads to unwelcome emphasis on the boobage. It's also kind of a strange semi-round, semi-square shape. I'm thinking of adding a lace collar if I can find one that fits.
I'm test driving it for a friend's wedding on Saturday. I usually leave outfit planning to the last minute for these occasions and then realise I haven't quite got everything I need
I don't stress such occasions. After all, at someone else's wedding it's not about what you're wearing.
It's between this one and getting my money's worth out of the lavender lace number.

As for the hair, it's slowly but surely getting darker!
Have a lovely week

Lovely outfit. Suitably spring. I especially like that last photo :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous frock, Lucy! I don't think the higher neckline is a problem - I always think the same about high neck/big boobs for myself, but have been trying to ignore my internalised rules about that and give it a go. Such a pretty colour and print, perfect for Spring, and a Spring wedding!
ReplyDeleteLoving the shorter fringe and the darker hair colour and the specs too. xxxxx
I love your yellow dress Lucy, it's so 60s! I could totally see this being a costume on Mad Men! did you get your hair cut? Love the fringe length, it really suits you! Can't wait to see if you go darker.
ReplyDeleteThe weather was the same here today, lovely and sunny this morning and then it started to rain
:(

It's great. It looks lovely on you.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is so adorable! It is a high neckline and it does frame the melons nicely, but it doesn't look bad because of that... It looks really lovely. The pattern and colour are wonderful. Definitely wear it to a wedding!
ReplyDeleteYellow screams happy for sure! I think you could add a sweet Peter Pan lace collar and it would be even sweeter! You have the prettiest eyes Lucy, love that last photo of them!

ReplyDeleteI'm kind of spazzing over what to wear to a wedding in June. Mostly because I rarely get to really dress up, you know? Love that yellow on you by the way.
ReplyDeleteIt's a totally gorgeous frock!! You could always try fashioning a lacey doily into a collar, if you can't find one? L:ove the cheerful yellow, it's perfect to wear to a wedding. Cute shoes too! XXX
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this frock on you. The fit looks amazing on your figure. So so pretty, & I wouldn't be worried about the boobage factor at all. Xx

Ah, the old high-neckline-big-boobage problem. I love tea dresses but they do need to be flattering as well as modest! This yellow is really pretty, I hope you can make it comfortable for yourself. Your lady bag is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a cute dress and you look lovely as ever in it.
ReplyDeleteLovin your shoes too.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You, the dress, everything! It just struck me that I don't see yellow dresses very often, which is a shame. They're very cheery. ;) Also - a lace collar would look awesome.

ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely BREATHTAKING in this yellow frock, I think it emphasises your lovely trim waist than the booboids actually. The length is perfect and oh my the bag and shoes!!!!
