I took some photos on the way back from the party on Saturday night.
Very late at night, amateur messing about stuff. I was taken by how pretty the blurry street lights looked through the rain spattered windscreen
Mr N kept telling me off cos the flash would be freaking other drivers out, thinking they'd been papped by a speed camera
I took some more when I got home
I bought the beaded stole thing from a charity shop a few days before and was desperate for an excuse to wear it.
Can you tell I've discovered Bokeh?

Dark nights mean twinkly lights
Me love!

You've really captured what it feels like driving at night in the rain Lucy, I love that feeling, especially with some good music playing, you feel safe from the world I think. Have you got the picfx app? It has a few different bokeh effects. I'd love to have those white lights all over the house but Pat constantly goes on about them being a fire hazard, he's got a mania for unplugging everything in case it spontaneously combusts. xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like Saturday evening was a good evening. *lol*
ReplyDeleteThe beaded stole thing is lovely.
I really love your atmospheric post! Twinkly lights rule in my world too. I am just loving your outfit and that scarf is a real beauty!

awesome after-party pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteI cant get over how pretty the street lights look, you could almost mistake them for Fireworks. The images are magical and christmassy. And the photos of you are pretty sprakley too, brilliant. And I do believe that dark nights = Twinkly lights xx
ReplyDeleteThose photos are absolutely magnificent! You look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI've just been on that bokeh link. Very clever, Was trying to work out how the hell to do it. Looks complicated. I operate a point and shoot camera so prob a bit out of my realm! x
Are these some pretty twinkly shots, loving the feel you have captured. Your little beaded neck bling is pretty too.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty,pretty pictures! I hadn't heard of bokeh,but if that's what you're doing,it's working! Lovely effects!
ReplyDeleteWhat I can see of your outfit is pretty pretty! The little stole is a sweetie!
I bet other drivers were a little startled, but it's all in the name of art, darling!

Love your Bokeh inspired photos Lucy, and your beaded thingy, you always find the best things in charity shops. I haven't been charity shopping in a while because it takes such a long time to do it properly. Hope you had a great Halloween!

You have managed to make a rainy drive home look so magical! The beaded stole is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove these photos, I want to learn more about Bokeh. Not sure I can do it with my camera but will still try. Beautiful ... thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis is so perfectly wintery and spooky, I love being a passenger in the dark and seeing all the warm glowing lights!
ReplyDeleteLove a bit of Bokeh!! I need to use it more. You've created a magical world out of mundane things and terrible weather. And yourself. You are definitely never mundane. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit dim so had never heard of bokeh, but your photos have definitely got me interested and inspired, they're really beautiful and atmospheric. You look gorgeous, and I love your little beaded capey collar thingy. Lovely Lucy! xxxx
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful and so do your photos of the street lights!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely :)
Lxx
Jon swirls the camera is a figure-of-eight movement with the flash on which has a similar swirly effect. I've never heard of bokeh but I'll drop it causally into the conversation next time he does it and see if he's impressed!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in these, your hair looks really dark and pretty and that sequinned collar thingy is gorgeous. x
What pretty pictures!
ReplyDeleteWicked photo's :-) love your sequinned scarf thats very pretty, dee x
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks amazing. Super jealous. Fab little capelet too. I love fairy lights and have just had a good play with sparklers so am quite happy with the dark nights too.
